OK, here's the answer. Instead of searching the text for the evidence freenotes fields, search individuals - text and pick the FOOTNOTE fields - Indiv. Evid. Footnote and Event Evid. footnote. Then search for "[FR" (without the quotes) as the selected text.

This assumes you have built the footnotes, of course.
