Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

You can upgrade from Visual ROOTS to UFT. All you have to do is choose the option to upgrade an existing version and the installation should find the Vroots program, remove it and install UFT in the same location. While this install should not overwrite your existing data files, I suggest making a current backup before you install UFT.

You can also install UFT as a separate program in it's own directory and then open your Visual ROOTS program from within UFT.
