Dan,
This may not be useful to you, since I have not tried it out for your type of situation. I have not used AOL, although I have used a recent version of Compuserve (owned by AOL). I also have not tried to upload a web page through UFT.
However, given my limited direct experience, have you tried using your browser outside of the AOL main interface? When we are on connected to Compuserve, we can start up a regular version of either Netscape or IE, enter a URL, and surf the web without the "shell" that Compuserve normally puts around our session. Since there are some aspects of the native browsers that we prefer over the Compuserve browser, our surfing experience is easier.
As I said before, this may not be relevent to your problem, but it may give you some more things to try.
