It was mentioned that FTM can access the hard drive by cookies and perhaps by the FTM.ini file. There is a third way.

Remember that activate Br°dcast check box on the splash screen? There is a trigger in the registry called BBstore that can command FTM to download a new splash.jpg file and replace the existing one in your FTM directory. I asked Paul B. a few months ago why they had this feature and he said to advise people of new FTM components but he admitted that they have never actually done this.

I would not know because I deactivated Br°dcast, deleted the whole BBStore sub-directory and the erased the registry key.

If FTM can signal home through the internet and write stuff to your hard drive whenever they want, what else can they do?
