It appears that both UFT 2.9 and 3.0 point uploads to uftree.com while previous versions point to www.palladiumnet.com by default. Melissa tested that by doing a fresh install of 2.9 and it used uftree.com as the FTP server.

As for upgrades, the UFT 3.0 readme.hlp file says that the old PD.INI is renamed to PD.OLD and a new PD.INI is created. It would be during that process that an old PD.INI which had been pointing its FTP Server section to www.palladiumnet.com would be renamed and the new one installed which points to www.uftree.com.
