What is the point of that message? How does this tie into Family Tree Maker or the World Family Tree Project?

All this person says is that through a relative they were sent a file in the Family Tree Maker file format that included individuals in their own file? It doesn't say that the file came from the World Family Tree Project.

If it did, it'd be extremely easy to find out. All this person has to do is to use the Internet FamilyFinder to search for some of the names to see if they appeared in the same file on a particular World Family Tree CD.

If that was the case, we'd be happy to look up the contributor information to let this person know from whom we received the file.

Sincerely,
Paul Burchfield, Genealogy.com Technical Support
