It sounds as though you might have an earlier package for UFTree.

Open the UFTree program.
Click on help . . About.

Which version do you have installed?

If UFTree is 3.0 you have the latest.

If UFTree is version 2.8 or 2.9, we users have some suggestions for you before you upgrade to 3.0.

If UFTree is earlier than 2.8, an upgrade to 2.8 is free on the UFTree website http://www.uftree.com.

This software is great.
This software is complex.
FTM messes with some things UFTree.

UFTree users don't like FTM. UFTree users speak very unpleasant words about FTM. UFTree users try to stay as far away as possible from the FTM program. UFTree users are very selective as to which FTM Research CDs they purchase.

You said:
"I'm starting to think I made very big mistake purching UFT Deluxe to have access to their CDs also. "

That part of the UFTree program was discontinued last year before the present 'owners' took over.

"I can't use the UFT on-line services because the REGISTRATION CARD I received doesn't have a registration number on it for registration."

Most of the UFTree online services do not require a registration number now. Which services are you trying to use?

"Has anyone found another solution to this problem? A NEW problem just developed where the viewer lost the UFT DLLs."

That is one of the reasons UFTree users don't use nice words about FTM.

"UFT ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM WHERE ONE OF THE "FTM" URLS CLOBBERS MY UFT SCESSION! DO I SEND THE COMPLAINT TO BOTH UFT AND FTM?"

Talk to FTM about that. Or ask Paul Burchfield on this website. If you put his name in the message topic field, he will find it and will probably answer.

"THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO EXIST ON THIS BBS ALSO."

This is not a BBS. This is
http://genforum.genealogy.com/uft/
which is mostly a user to user website
that is provided for UFTree users.

"I'VE SEEN SOME FTM REPLIES TO PROBLEMS WITH UFT CLEARLY STATED IN THE SUBJECT LINE!"

Yes, Paul Burchfield sometimes uses the wrong version of his signature. Paul is one of the paid staff that works with both FTM and UFTree.

THE UFT INSERTS ALSO HAVE AN INCORRECT PRINTED URL! HTTP://WWW.UFTTREE.COM

No, that is the address of the website where you can download free updates, look into the Knowledge Base, read genealogical research articles and stuff like that. But the old user to user message board at that site was discontinuted last year when this site was opened.

"There might be something else missing that I didn't receive from UFT? My UFT Deluxe package only included:
UFT Deluxe program PAL-CD-10138A
UFT Data Library Master Index PAL-CD-4001B
UFT User Guide Manuel PAL-UG-10137A
UFT Quick Start Guide PAL-QS-10137A
UFT Data Library offer PAL-INS-10138B
UFT Scrapbook Creator offer PAL-INS-10138A
and a Clooz discount coupon"

That looks about right, except the PAL coded CD was probably v. 2.5. which was issued early last year. I would not be surprised if the old company name(s), Palladium or The Learning Company, are listed on that box. I would guess that it did not list the version on the outside of your box. Some versions of the manuals list the version on the title page. The box for the 3.0 version is the only one that lists the version on the outside.

Please don't become angry at the people on this website. We are UFTree users, not company policy makers.

And please don't use ALL CAPS in your messages. They are hard to read.

I hope you can and will stick around to learn to use the best (although still flawed) genealogy software yet produced.

Maggie Kitts (an UFTree user)
