Yes is is strange. I blame the way I might click on the icon. But why only UFT. My short-cut points to C:\UFT30\UFTree.exe if I remember correct. I should add that this is not something new, but has been a fact of life for some period of time. I always hated to start UFT while Netscape was running because if this blank screen happened it would reset my Netscape links that have been read to unread. Guess because Netscape was not closed proper.
I have not had TMG do this, but it seems others are reporting start-up problems with it.
