I can no longer upload replacements for my web pages on the UFT site. The problem may be related to my change to a cable modem and use of the @Home network.
I wrote to technical support. Their only suggestion was that I setup my web pages on genealogy.com. Since technical support signs their e-mail as Genealogy.com it makes me wonder if the UFT-hosted web pages are being phased out. Being unhappy with that response I am still trying to upload to UFT although now I am trying with a very small 14KB test file.
Following the guidance of the UFT help page I used the FTPSWAP program to switch to passive mode when uploading through a cable modem. The upload still does not work. I establish the connection with UFT's FTP but the number of bytes sent stays at 0. After 900 seconds the upload is automatically aborted. Following is the text of the log file created during the attempted upload:
220 www2.palladium.net FTP server (UNIX(r) System V Release 4.0) ready.
331 Password required for fg.
230 User fg logged in.
227 Entering Passive Mode (208,209,185,112,226,64)
200 Type set to I.
421 Timeout (900 seconds): closing control connection.
I have talked to the @HOME level 2 technical support and since the connection is being established and I have switched to passive FTP they believe the problem must be UFT's.
Has anyone else dealt with a problem like this? Is anyone able to upload web pages these days? Is UFT phasing out its web pages to get us to switch to genealogy.com pages?
