If you decide to choose one master spelling, however, I would certainly put the original spelling somewhere in the record--if not in the alias field, then in the biographical text itself. You can use the Name Index Codes [NI: :NI]to include the reference in the Name Index. (See your manual for further, or our web page link from the Newsletter topic at http://members.tripod.com/rug1/)
