Re: DATA Corruption when importing GEDCO

Debra

Another problem when importing data from FTM or FTW is that when there is conflicting birth information in Family Tree maker and a GEDCOM is generated, it places two or more BIRT records in the GEDCOM for the individual.

UFT, when it sees multiple BIRT entries, treats the first as a BIRTH event and the second as a BIRTH2 event and subsequent as BIRTH3 events. This would be fine except the roles assigned for the BIRTH2 and BIRTH3 events are role numbers 1, 2 and 3 which are only valid for the BIRTH event.

The roles for the child, mother and father for BIRTH2 and BIRTH3 events are high up in the list of roles, somewhere above 200.

Everything works ok until you do a "UTILITIES - PROJECT - REPAIR" which removes all the information from the BIRTH2 and BIRTH3 events because the roles are not valid for these events.

Now here is a problem that affects the database, are you going to see a fix or is this such a small problem that it is to be ignored also.
