Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

The latest version of UFT is 3.0. Are you sure you don't have Family Tree Maker (FTM or FTW) and not Ultimate Family Tree (UFT)? Citations are handled differently in FTM/FTW.

A citation is what is referenced to prove a fact. For instance, the birth date of an individual may have come from their birth certificate. The birth certificate is "cited" as the source of the information. In UFT you create a source record for the birth certificate. In the birth event for the individual you enter the date, and in the proof window for the event you "cite" the source record for the birth certificate. If you want the "cite" to print as a endnote you move it to the footnote text window in the proof.

Hope this helps.
