Yes you can with no problems. That is the way I did it. I installed 3.0 as an update to the latest UFT program I had which was 2.8. I then reinstalled 2.8 in a directory named UFT28. (Actually I think what I did was installed 2.7 from CD and then installed the 2.8 update over it.) No problems. I have been running this way almost since 3.0 came out.
