Transferring genealogical data by CD

I have collected family data (documents, photos, audio clips etc) from various sources and wish to enter it into a sofware programme. What is important (vital I would think for everybody) is to be able to copy the result to family members anywhere in the world by making CDs so that they can use it and add whatever they have.

I want something like any multimedia authoring software or like Adobe Acrobat which allows a recipient to read the output in full as it was created. They do not need to buy the creating sopftware themselves.

I cannot find such a application and cannot understand why not since sharing information is central to genealogy.

Please, someone, tell me there is such apiece of software; Does UFT do it? Not very ultimate if not.
John
