The problem with the Italics is that the additional information (from the source citation) is inserted into the middle of the HTML italics code. That is, after the < and before the /I> which ends the italics sequence. As a work around, I have inserted a blank between the S2 and the :IT] in the short footnote of the source template. This still causes the additional information to print in italics but the rest of the source citations appear correct.
