I think all of us dedicated UFT users reading this board see that UFT is at risk, and maybe already condemned by Genealogy.com.
We can jump ship, and start using another, less powerful product; we can sit back and let Genealogy.com do whatever it wants with UFT; or we can plead and try to persuade the company to take a more positive marketing and support approach. We could even get out and promote the product to help it gain market share so that Genealogy.com wants it to continue (but some of us have difficulty doing that in all honesty, considering the lack of support the company had given the product in the last six months or so).
In any case, those of us with a UFT 2.8 OR 2.9 still around can continue to use this valuable tool to help us with our hobby. For most of us, it still works reasonably well, no matter how disappointed we are with the current apparent attitude of the company.
Personally, I'm keeping my eye out for alternate products, but so far I have not found one that would help me organize my data as well as UFT. I don't think I could start using it now if I could not get UFT 2.8, to produce my favourite report properly, but since I have that, I'm all set for the time being.
