Trying to sell FTM to UFT users...Again!

Well, I got the call this morning. Went something like this:

FTM Person: "Hello Deby Jecoy Nunes, I'm calling to let you know about a wonderful upgrade offer for Family Tree Maker, 7.0"

ME: "I'm sorry, but I don't use FTM, I use UFT (I gave full names, mind you...)"

FTM Person: "But it has some really nice new features, such as..."

ME: "Yes, I'm sure it does, but I don't own FTM, are you familiar with UFT, your company also produces it"

FTM PERSON: "No I'm not, but that's why I'm calling you with this upgrade offer, so you can have the latest version of FTM, FTM 7.0"

ME: "Listen, I use UFT, 3.0, you can't upgrade from that to FTM anything.0. It's a completely different, infinitely better program"

FTM PERSON: "Yes, but FTM does..."

ME: "Look, you obviously have not a clue, since you are trying to sell me an upgrade that I won't be able to--not to mention don't want to--use for a program that I don't even own, so please place me on your 'do not call' list immediately and do not call me again."

At which time I hung up, leaving her still trying to sell me an upgrade to a program that I DON'T EVEN OWN!!!!! Now I understand that this company, whoever they might be today, use telemarketers to sell their products but please, PLEASE, Try to refrain from wooing away customers from one of your programs to another of your programs. The lists are obviously generated from product registrations, since I registered using my maiden and married names. Is the management here that daft not to cull out those of us who use a different program altogether? Well, since they are a Mattel thing, and after my experience this weekend with Tech support on another Ultimate product, I'm beginning to think so. (A bedtime story for for another time...)

So I'm now left with the question, so deftly dodged by the Powers That Be, What is the future of UFT??? Is there even a future planned for UFT. (I know, you can't tell us...) I for one will not be migrating to the lameness that is FTM, that's for sure!
