We did not specifically test "round-trip" transfers, as it is an immense engineering effort to try to make that clean."Round-trip" between any two software packages except for the most basic BMDB GEDCOMs is guaranteed to lose things because of the two programs' differing interpretations of GEDCOM and methods of storing data.
FTM is challenging for GEDCOM transfer in that it has this notion of a "comment/location" field, that is, it might be a place, or it might just be "some text".This makes GEDCOM-ing the various place levels of UFT , event details, etcetera, to be rearranged in such a way that round trips just don't work well.There are other similar problems, this is just an example.
