Catherine and Ron,
I am curious as to why you feel trapped in UFT because you can't move everything over to FTM. I can understand that FTM will have some reports that users prefer over what UFT has to offer, but generally these do not need all the details available in your UFT database.
In terms of data entry flexibility, I don't think UFT can be beat. Some have complained that it is hard to learn, but I found it a breeze after the struggles to learn all the data entry tricks of Roots 3 and 4. And I don't see how I can enter all the data I have on an individual, either when updating existing entries or creating a new family, any more efficiently than I do with UFT.
True, there are some problems with the current version that I can only get around by using a previous version. I would also like it to be a little more WIN 95 compatible.
But unless someone comes out with a significantly better (than their current product) competitor, I'll keep using UFT as my main genealogy database product, as long as I have a machine to run it on.
