Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

The book, 'Evidence!' is on the Uftree 3.0 CD. It is an excellent explanation of why and how to cite sources. I enjoyed reading/studying the book.

You don't need the book to use the Evidence Templates. See more below on how to unlock the book from the CD.

On the UFTree Website, the downloadable Evidence! Templates are available.

Evidence Source Templates

You can download and install that file easily and quickly. Some of the Evidence! templates are duplicates or near duplicates of other templates that came as part of the program. If you have used any of the old templates that are duplicates or near duplicates of the new Evidence! templates, do not delete them. Unless you want to go to the trouble of re-entering the source data that you previously used with the old templates.

To read the book from the CD, you will need to get an unlocking code from UFTree, costing
about $4.95. From a bookstore the book is $16.95.

Jaime Montelongo, from Technical Support,
Genealogy.com came up with the following information. (Yes, Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus, errrrrr, I mean a Technical Support. grin)

Jaime said,

"I called the 888-891-1919 number and spoke to a woman who was actually able to help me. You can order Evidence! by calling that number. If the rep cannot find it, tell him/her to use PHELP(Product Help) and type in Evidence. That's how the rep I spoke with found the information."

What they do is charge your credit card and then email the code to you. I am told the code arrives almost immediately, or at least in a day or two.
