Problem in restoring SQZ files

I had the ultimate family tree installed on my computer and spent over 2 years in adding over 3000 records. I backed this up and a SQZ was saved on a flash drive. This was done about 3 years ago.

My desk top probably was reformatted (I am not sure of the sequence). I found out that thr program was not on my desk top.

I installed the program once again and tried to open the SQZ file.
I keep getting the message"Not a FOXSQZ archive or incompatiable version".
Can any one help in getting the data back?. The info is so vital that I cannot afford to loose.
