Program error in Text file

I'm a long time user of UFT 3.1 with several large project files and came up with a new problem. Will try to keep this short but show what I've tried.

I tried to generate a Family Journal Report of 5 generations and the program just stopped at person #424 out of 689. I believe I have it isolated to an error in one of the text files but have no idea how to find it.

Esc would not take me out of the report and the CPU was running at full speed but nothing happening. Control/alt delete - and cancelled the program to get out of it. Then had to reboot computer to get back into UFT

1. Used a different file and was able to run the report on a large file. Probably not in the program - must be in the file ?? )

2. Used fixme.bat -- several times but that didn't help. A couple times I was getting a message on a missing memo file when I tried to open UFT.

3. Created a new file of the same info. Looked like it was working until I said "included text files" in the report. Back to stopping at the same number again with CPU at full speed.

4 Problem happens whether I open to WORD file, or the UFT editor or preview.

Any ideas on how I can find #424 and figure out what is in the text file? I have been adding lots of footnotes lately as well as some 'private text'

Appreciate any thoughts --
Mary Lou
