Unable to open saved .sqz file

I have complete malfunction in the Open an Existing Project window in the Folders file. When I try to open a saved project, the c:\uft\projects file will not pick up any other Drive. It loops back to c:\uft\projects. This means I cannot access any of my saved projects nor backed up projects. I reinstalled on my XP computer another copy of UFT. SAME problem, so I think this might be a Windows rather than a UFT problem. On my old computer running Windows98 with UFT 3.01, all is fine. And, things worked great on XP for several years.
I have downloaded the patch, but it does not say "patch" as it does on Win98 computer. I also have to now print all reports to D: using .rtf. Any thoughts, suggestions appreciated. I have been working with Melissa who is wonderful, but no solutions so far.
