No, that doesn't make any sense.
But make sure everyone between the top ancestor has a reasonable sort date anyway.
Most sort dates should have been automatically created but in a few cases it is necessary to enter a sort date by hand.
And after you have sort dates entered for everyone between the top ancestor and including the offending children, MAKE A BACKUP, then run, from the Utilities Menu, Project, Pack, Check (checking all boxes on the left from Events down to Source Links and be sure to click the Repair button before OK), and finally, also Reindex. Maybe some of the above won't improve anything but it's like housekeeping, it doesn't hurt to sweep the floor and take the garbage out occasionally. (grin) Run Utilities, Project, Pack, Check (with Repair) and Reindex once in a while in each of your projects. BUT BACKUP FIRST. Live a little. It is healthy to be paranoid about BACKUP.
Oh yes, also find and run the FixMe.Bat file now and then BUT BACKUP FIRST.
Strangely enough, after you fix some things, sometimes they don't get fixed until you shut the computer down, power off, and then restart the computer and the program.
