I must first warn you that my technical skills are right up there with a medium-size rock, but I have a question and I will try to articulate it as best I can.
Back in 1999, after I retired, I got interested in researching my family tree. At that time I was running Windows 95 and using UFT 3.0. I was quite successful, actually, thanks in large part to the local Morman Temple and a 1-week visit to the family history center in London, i.e. back to the late 1700's/early 1600's. Then I changed computers...updating to a Dell and running Windows XP. I copied my UFT files to disc, but when I tried to open these files using XP (I'm quite sure I am not alone here) nothing happened. I cannot open these files and they represent 3 years of work. I have most of the paper trail, obviously, but I dread the thought that I must start over using a new "package", since I read on this forum that UFT is now "extinct".
So...that is my issue. My guess is that I am not the first one to face this problem, but is there a wizard out there who has a solution? If I truly need to start over, then I should obviously get started, but I sure don't want to unless I MUST! Looking for answers.......
