John,

I just tried this and could have combined 4 persons but backed off before I lost three of them. :-)

I first went to Search > Ind > Name. Put in the name and did a search. Came up with 6 persons with that name. Used Shift-F9 to delete from the list, one at a time, the two I didn't want. Esc to get back to the search screen > double clicked on Group then was told there were 4 in the grouping table. Opened Utilities > Project > Combine Ind and was asked if I wanted to delete those that were left after combine was run. I stopped there.
