Error 41 again...

Hi folks,

I have UFT version 2.1 (UK version), and have just started using Windows 2000 professional (change from Windows 98). I've spent hours reading the old messages on the forum regarding error 41 and other problems with UFT. The good news is that I managed to fix the divide by zero / overflow error. THANK YOU ALL. The bad news is this. As one of those inexperienced users of UFT I thought I could safely save my files for transfer to another PC by saving the entire UFT directory. I did not do a backup (.sqz) and have not done one for about 2 years. Yes I know now :-)

I can open UFT. I can open the Kennedy file. I can see my projects when I select a project to open, however nothing happens. I get no error messages just a blank starting UFT screen. Now earlier somebody posted a message regarding the "properties" of the .pro files and there are options for "read only", "hidden" and "archive". The files I saved to CD and copied across have the box "read only" ticked. If I untick this and tick "archive" instead or if I leave all of the boxes unticked I get ERROR 41 memo... when I then try to open the project.

I tried fixme.bat and copying the memo file from the kennedy sample, but neither have worked. I know you die hard UFT users must be tired of seeing these error messages and hearing about folks not backing up properly but I'm really hoping that somebody out there has some advice on how I resolve this!!! Anything would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
