Well, in my typical bull-of-the-woods approach to life, I just ordered and received Family Tree Maker, vers. 11 because I was getting a little nervous about tech support in the future for UFT (a GREAT product. I am not optimistic because they enclose a flyer for an instruction book that can be ordered for another $25.00 (the one enclosed is really just a manual for installation. There is really no description of the FTM software telling me what kind of reports it will generate and how many generations it handles easily. And in MY humble, and amateurish opinion, TMG is no better than UFT. I downloaded the free 30 day trial of TMG and was really disappointed at the "presentation" of data fields and how data appeared on the screen. And data entry was rather convoluted compared to UFT. For now, I am going to stay with UFT and HOPE something better comes along. I originally started with Roots III several years back and it's just another example of how technology keeps "improving" a product until it can no longer be used. Drat!
