Unfortunately, the .PRO file does not contain data. It is one of the control files that points to all of the data files. The data files consist of approximately 25-30 numbered files that all start with the same three or four numbers (in your case 409) and have extensions such as .dbf, .fpt and .cdx. There are also library files associated with the project which contain places and sources. These start with either V_ (or X_ if you started with roots4) and have the word "book" in them, such as v_plbook.dbf. The library files are found in the uft\library directory.

When you backup in UFT, all of the project and library files are compressed into a single file with a .SQZ extension which is uncompressed when opened and restored through UFT.

I'm sorry to tell you that if you do not have these separate files or a .SQZ file and only have a .PRO file, your data has been lost.
