"Arnaout" is the Albanian label to all of Shqiptare (Albanian) people who left any Albanian land (albania, ēamėria, kosova, makdonia, & montenegro) during the late Ottoman rule over the Balkan (from 1830 till 1910).
If you go to regions like Turkey, Lebanon, Bulgaria or Syria, you can find people with the family name "Arnaout" (personally, I know a Syrian guy with the family name Arnaout" and he's of pure Albanian descent. If your family name is Arnaout, then you probably left Albania between 1840 to 1860, as during this period, a lot of Albanian immigrated over the middle east till Egypt, where they occupied high authoritative positions.
If you need further information about albanian families etc... you can contact me (email firstname.lastname@example.org) as I'm of Albanian descent too; and having left albanian lands before 130-150 years.
Best of the luck.
