My ggg-grandfather was John Joseph Tyson, born Feb. 13, 1814, died July 13, 1896 in Norristown, Montgomery County, PA. He married Sarah Ann Unknown, born in New Jersey Sept. 12, 1819, died Dec. 3, 1886 in Norristown, Montgomery County, PA. She is buried in Norris City Cemetery, Norristown. I am trying to find more information on Joseph. (He went by Joseph, not John). According to my father, my grandfather told him our Tyson's came from Scotland. My father's cousin says their great-aunt, my grandfather's father's sister, said our Tysons came from Wales. I have hit a brick wall with Joseph. I find him in all the censuses from 1840 to 1880 in Norristown, PA. All censuses say his parents were born in Pennsylvania. I don't know what denomination they were, so I don't know what churches to check for records. Joseph and Sarah had 5 children: Mary Ann, born abt. 1838, married George Zink John Randolph, born July 25, 1846, died June 20, 1904, married Hannah Goodwin ( my gg-grandfather) Sarah Jane, born April 21, 1849 in Chesterfield, Burlington County, New Jersey, died Feb. 26, 1918 in Norristown. Never married Martha M, born Feb. 1852, died before 1920. Never married Josephine, born Aug. 1854, died May 14, 1917. Never married. All children except Sarah Jane were born and died in Norristown, PA. Do any of these names sound familiar? Notify Administrator about this message?
