Thank you for your quick response. I am a beginner at this so I really don't even know what the term "civil registration" means. I believe the Tyrrells were Catholic.Since my grandmother Tyrrell, Jeremiah's daughter, was born in 1892, my thought is it might be the one from 1875 perhaps?????? I have not checked Ellis Island and shipping lists. I'll figure out how to do that. Thanks for all the tips.
