Thomas Tyrrell was born on 5 Mar 1782 and died in 1829, he was 46. He married in May 1808 Frances Ledwich, daughter of Very Rev Dr Edward Ledwich LLD & Susanna Bernard. They had the following children: i. Thomas Ledwick (1810-1896), whose descendants live at Kishavanna near Edenderry; ii. Frances (Fanny) was born on 28 Jun 1812 in Claydon and died in 1879. On 1 Aug 1843 she married Edward Ridgeway from Hodgestown in Carbury Church. No note of children iii. Edward (1814-1899) married Maria Wall and is buried in Walpole, Ontario; iv. Garrett (Twin) was born on 1 Jun 1815 and died in 1817; v. Martha (Twin) was born on 1 Jun 1815 in Claydon and died on 13 Feb 1843 and buried in Carbury. She was unmarried; vi. Adam was born in 1817 and married Ann Mather (IGI says in 1852); vii. Letitia was born in 1818 in Clayton and died in 1870 and was buried on 25 May 1870 in Carbury. She was unmarried.
Thomas Tyrrell at the age 16 took part in the Battle of Clonard during the 1798 Rebellion. He was related to the Tyrrells of Ballinderry House and Grange Castle. Through marriage he was related to the Aylmers (9th Cousin 1R was Justin 4Bt Aylmer of Donadea), to the Sarsfields (his 4th Cousin 4R was Sir Patrick Sarsfield 1st Earl of Lucan , the Jacobite creation, who led the Wild Geese out of Limerick after the “Broken’ Treaty of 1691). Also in Ireland to the Dillons and Haughtons. In Canada related to the Husbands of Walpole. His great-nephews were Joseph Burr Tyrrell of the Royal Tyrrell Museum and his brother the explorer James Williams Tyrrell. His g.g.g grandnephew is the present owner of Ballinderry House, near Edenderry, Co Kildare in Ireland.
