I am not aware of any connection but they appear to be close in age - perhaps cousins or brothers?

St Giles Cripplegate is only about 5 minutes walk from Aldersgate Street and neither is very far from Clerkenwell.
I am planning a trip to the London Metropolitan Archives to look at the registers for Aldersgate so I will check the records for St Giles at the same time.

By the way my branch of the Tyrer family appear to have been watch makers. Do you have any watch makers on your side?
