Dorothy I may have corresponded with you before.Satterwhite Tyree was my gggrandfather. He married Sally hawkins Jan 29,1846 in Estill Co,Her father was Thomas Hawkins.They had the following children. Merrill first born, Roland, Elbridge(my ggrandfather)Mariah,william, Armina and A.E. who i think might have been named Emma' Roland was Killed by some men supposidly over a horse when merrill found out He and some friends found and shot the. They were arrested and taken to jail in Montgomery Co. The other men were released but merrill was kept in jail. asometime during the night about 30 men got him out of jail and hanged him.I have been trying to find more documentation. There was a lady from Texas who wrote a book on the Tyrees. I found part of this on the internet The Tyree File, written by Tyrees for the Tyrees by Elinor Tyree. i do not know if she is still alive. This also corresonds with things my grandfather always told us. Murrill was married to a girl also named Sally. Back in the summer I had an e-mail from someone who was a descendant of merrills wife. but i haven't heard anything since. I haven't had time to do much researching this past year. I don't know if this helps or hinders you. If you find anymore information let me know. I haven't bee able to find death certificates, pictures, anything of this nature.
