Brett --

Your father and uncle were the only two children (that I know of) of Bailey Edgar TYNES Sr (1893-1977) and his first wife, whose name I don't know. In about 1929 he married a widow named Ruthie J. BLACKSHER, who had some Blacksher children by her previous marriage, but I don't think she and Bailey Sr had any of their own.

Bailey Sr was the oldest surviving child of Calvin D. TYNES (1863-1906) and Sophronia A. WALKER. Sophronia is the one who moved the family to Waco, after Calvin's death. She remarried to a WHATLEY. Calvin's parents were William Luther TYNES (1822-1906) and Caroline R. COMPTON (1830-1879). William Luther was a son of Timothy TYNES (c1788-1869) and his first wife, name unknown.

That's as far as I've been able to trace it for sure; but Timothy was most likely a grandson of William TYNES (d. 1761) and Patience DAVIS, of Caroline County, Virginia, and Granville County, North Carolina. It's just the intervening generation that is a mystery.
