Hello, all.I hope you see this response since this is an old post.Mark, there is probably come merit to what you say about Wiley belonging to John Tynes of Greene Co., AL.
I have just recently unearthed my mother's maternal great-grandparents.They are J. W. Hardy b. 3/2/1832 and SEJ Tynes b. 12/30/1828.Their children are as follows:James W.(Wilson) b. 1/26/1856, MS?, John T. b. 8/5/1860, AR and Wiley J.D. b. 1/5/1863, AR.I have not been able to verify the states of birth as I have not yet located the parents in the census for 1860.The boys seem to be named for his father, her father, Wiley may be to commemorate both J.W.'s brother who is said to be William Henry Hardy and her brother or other relative. But with it being Wiley, it sure caught my attention in your post.
I'm sure you already know this, but in 1870 Sarah is living in her father's household, as a widow, in Union Township, Greene Co., AR.The census entry threw me for a while. It really looks like Lines and the index has it as Sims, hmmm...
There is a Dixon Lines/Tines in Greene Co.,AR as well in 1860.Do you know where he fits in?
Briefly, this is the way the rest of my line goes:
James W. Hardy will marry in 1876 Amelia Cole daughter of Dennis Cole and Lucinda Knipper. They will have 3 children:Thomas born 1878-9, who may have died young as I do not find him in 1900, Adelia b. 1882 who I can find no other record of, Ada Marie (my great-grandmother) b. Mar 1884.Amelia dies after 1884 and James W. remarries to Martha Thorn.Their child is Grover and I can't give you a birth date at this moment (my notes are not here)before 1900.James'brothers:John T. married Virginia A. Cole, niece of Amelia and Wiley J. married Lavisa Cole, another niece of Amelia (Amelia only had 24 brothers and sisters, so there were a lot of nieces to choose from!).John either dies before 1880 or they are divorced, Wiley died 1899, Lavis 1898 and they had 6 children between marriage in 1884 and her death, 5 living to adulthood who lived with James W. in 1900.
Ada Marie married in 1904 Greene Co., AR W.C.(William Carroll, Will or WIllie) Jones, Jr. son of W.C. Jones and Eliza Jane Chaney. The Elder W.C. was county judge in Lewis Co., MO 1878-1880 or so, then again in Greene Co., AR 1888 to at least 1891.One of the W.C.'s owned the Commercial Hotel in either Gainesville or Paragould, AR.The Hardy's lived in Gainesville.Children of Ada and W.C. are Hazel Lovine "Maxine" b. 1913 04 14, Willie/Willene Marie b. 1915 (my grandmother).
I would be very interested in knowing about the Tynes family.A new-found internet friend, and hopefully cousin, has provided me a Bible transcript that must be from Wiley J.D. Hardy's family as his children are the ones listed in it.She doesn't know yet where she connects to this Hardy family, but we should know soon.I will be delighted to share any of that information with you.Have a wonderful day!
