Dear Mark,

Do you know if your Tynans were genealogically linked at all to the Tynans in Hoosick Falls, NY? My great-great-grandparents (Patrick & Winnefred) were in Hoosick Falls in the 1850s, before moving on to Belvidere, Illinois. Then my great-grandfather their son ended up near Waterloo, IA, (originally moving to Waverly, northwest of Denver, IA.)

Pat & Winnefred's first two kids, Daniel and Johanna, were living while they were in Hoosick Falls, NY. (Pat & Winnie later had another son named James, and daughters named Winnifred and Mary.) Another Tynan family near where Pat & Winnie moved in Illinois had kids named William & Jane.

Then, after Pat and Winnefred left Hoosick Falls, there was another couple named William and Johanna Tynan living in Hoosick Falls through the last quarter or so of the 1800s. William & Johanna also had kids named Daniel & Johanna.

The similarities in the names seems like quite a coincidence to me.

Steven Tynan
