There are a bunch of us Tynans here in Arizona, and I am originally from Long Island, NY. I am Edmund Charles Tynan
Jr., only son and child of Edmund C Tynan Sr. I just retired from running Motorola's computer centers here. My wife, Judith Alice (Cox) and I have 7 children: Patricia Marie, a physicist; Kirsten Coleen, a mech. engineer working on rockets; Mara Bridget, working on Oracle databases for
Ford Motor Co; Leressa Ann, a mathematician; Megan Ruth, a historian working on her doctorate; Erin Theresa, newly graduated from Arizona State University with her degree in Chemical Engineering and looking for a job (!); and Edmund Joseph, graduating this June from Seattle University with his Degree in Electrical Engineering (computer aided design). Now that I have some free time, I am looking to delve into the background of our family, and am especially interested in pre-1900 information. My grandfather was Joseph Tynan, whom I knew as a child, and he had run a harness shop in upstate NY (Cohoes). Since I have only little information on the family, I am now seeking anything anyone has already turned up, so I do not have to re-invent the wheel, so to speak. Thanks!
