Yes. There is a connection. The elder James Tyer is father of the younger one, and also father of Durant - at least he had a son Durant - and a gr. son, too, I think. James Tyer moved from Holly Springs, MS after death of his first wife, and remarriage in Holly Springs one year later. He was my third great-grandfather. I have black/white photo of the tombstone, sent to me by a nth cousin. Did he leave a will?
