Not sure, but I was wondering if perhaps you are related to Cannon Tyre, son of Major Tyre and Mary Cannon Tyre. Cannon Tyre was listed in 1830 Census of Appling Co., GA as head of household. I believe that Cannon Tyre moved to Columbia County, FL around 1838. He is listed in 1850 Columbia Co., FL census. His brothers: William and John lived in nearby Hamilton Co., FL. Some members of the family spell the name Tyre and others Tyer. Hope this helps! There is a Tyre Reunion in Lulu, FL yearly.
