Significant amount of Tye's in South USA
Dear Relatives
Well, as I look through the names of our ancestors the writer had an Aunt Agnes and now it appears the answer has been found. The writer attempted some time ago to follow the name back and was found as far back as 1600 in England where some Tyes immigrated to the United States and it appears that some of our ancestors were die hard colonialists and were sent packing to Upper Canada where they settled in Angus Ontario.
There is apparently a cemetary in Angus with Tyes buried as far back as the 1700's. Not sure about this one but our name is courtly and goes back as far as 1066 AD brought over by William The Conquerer.
In a Church in Barbados the Oldest One we have a Mary Tye that immigrated to that Island but sadly,it appears she either married or died which I believe to be her fate. It is nice to know you all and just a footnote or 2 I served in the US Navy and my trail of the Tyes ended in the southeast US circa 1800.Most of the male Tye's in Canada belong to the Masonic Lodge.
Take Care and Love to all of my Relatives
