Hate to post a follow-up to my own inquiry, but I have learned some information that may help others.

Macie Dee Morgan was the son of John W. Morgan and wife Oliva (Oleva). He had three siblings: James M., Rosie J., and Morie R. (a twin sister).

From the 1930 Wood Co. TX census, we have:

Oleva Morgan ......... b. 1898 TX
.. James M Morgan ..... son b. 1919-Nov-30 TX d. 1994-Jun-07 Quitman TX
.. Rosie J Morgan ..... dau b. (omitting)
.. Morie R Morgan ..... dau b. (omitting)
.. Macie D Morgan ..... son b. 1924 (1923-Aug-19) TX d. 1996-May-29 Smith Co. TX

(NOTE: Specific dates are taken from SSDI.)

From the 1920 Wood Co. TX census, we have:

1920: John W. and Oliva are in Wood Co.

John W Morgan ............ b. 1892 TX
Oliva Morgan ............. b. 1900 TX
.. Jas M Morgan .......... b. 1919 TX son
