Linda,

I'm in the process of taking photos of tombstones in Wood County, Texas cemeteries and jus completed Sand Springs and uploaded the photos to my site. To see the photo's, please go to the following url:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~tdw2/cemetery.html

Then follow the links to the various cemeteries. I looked at the Sand Springs photo's and found a Verna F that was the wife of Harmon A Shockey. She was born 08-27-1906 and died 06-22-1988; he was born 05-10-1904 and died 09-04-1971. I then looked on the Texas Birth Index for the years 1926 thru 1949 and verified her name as Verna Faye Dowell and his name as Harmon Arvil Shockey. They had at least two children as follows:
Gerald Dowell Shockey born 12-01-1938 Upshur County, Texas
Marinell Shockey born 04-18-1942 Upshur County, Texas

This is all I have on Verna, and I haven't found anything on Lellah. Hope this helps.
