Hi, I live in Winnsboro, Tx. Wood Co.
Just a few weeks ago there was a old house that burned. It use to be called the Baber's Sanitorium. It was at least 80 yr's old. There is a piece on it in the Winnsboro news on Aprial 25, 2002.
according to historian Bill Jones the brick Structure was built between 1918 and 1920 by Dr. Will Baber. Dr. Baber died in 1922. His daughter Birdie Mae Spates inherited the building. She was a school teacher.
The building was on West Myrtle st.
There was a family by the name of Crow living on that same st. just a few blocks from this building. I am related to the Crow family. I will ck. and see what I can find out and get back with you soon I hope.
This is the only Sanitorium I have ever heard of. That doesn't mean much though. I hope this might help you some in you search. Good Luck.
Nancy
