The Shooting of William (Willie) Jarnagin 1890
Posted by: Debbie Gragg (ID *****1097) Date: August 28, 2010 at 20:56:01

Hello,

I am very interested in getting information on the Shooting of William Jarnagin, outside of the city limits of Alvord, TX, in the year 1890 or 91. This was a shooting between William Jarnagin (Willie) and Andrew Foster.

There was a trial, because William Jarnagin died as the result of being shot off his horse. I do not reside in Texas and so I was wondering if anyone might know where to find information on Wise Co. history, especially newspaper articles from the 1800's. It is my understanding through the telling of family stories that the trial was news that was reported in a local newspaper.

This is a very interesting story in a continuing family saga, and I would love to know if these newspaper accounts exist.

Regards,
Debbie
