Usually they moved because of land. In the early days farmers depleted the soil or ranchers over grazed the land. I had ancestors in Parker Co, TX and I'm sure the land must have drawn them there. If you do a "census search" you might find others near your family that came from the same area. The first ones in a new place wrote home and said "y'all come." LOL
