Newton J. Chance and his brother Joseph C. Chance were also from Wise County. These brothers infiltrated the group supposedly in Cooke County and that led to over 40 men being hung in 1862. Another man from Denton supposedly infiltrated the group and I think there were hangings there too. All of these men were connected it seems. If you can help provide names/dates or stories passed down I'd love to hear from you.
