Is there a National Archives depository near you? I found my great-great-grandfather's name in the alphabetic roll here in Fort Worth, Texas at the National Archives records office. His entire record was here.

You might check it out.

Also, if they served in regiments from Texas, check with the Confederate History/Research center at Hillsboro, TX. Peggy Fox is the director. This center has ONLY Confederate soldier records. There is no charge until they find the records. As long as you know their full names, they will probably be able to find the info you are looking for.
