Hi. I can't help you with your families but I find it interesting that your Poppell and Whiddons were in Wilson Co TX. My Regan family migrated from Gadsden Co FL To Wilson Co abt. 1882. I was able to narrow it down to that year because my gguncle George Regan had a child b. in FL in 1881 and a child b. in TX in 1883. There must have been some kind of wagon train or something that people from Gadsden went with to Texas in the early 1880s.

One of my great grandfather's sisters married W.E. Whiddon in Gadsden Co in the 1870s. I do not believe they migrated to TX though as I found a W.E. and Nancy Whiddon buried in the Barber Cemetery in Gadsden Co. that would fit my Nancy R. Whiddon and her husband. Incidentally, my Regan branch moved back to Florida after my great grandmother buried two of her babies in TX. Small world sometimes isn't it??
Gwen
PS When I was searching the 1920 Wilson Co TX census, I ran across a Pharoah Poppell b. in FL. Any relation??
